English as a Foreign Language (EFL)

BCIS has set up an English as a Foreign Language (EFL) program to meet the needs of newly accepted students who are non-native English speakers and have beginner level English skills. Our EFL program focuses on the 4 core language skills of: reading, writing, speaking and listening. Students spend 4 hours out of the school day studying English language subjects; this intensive approach can transform students’ language skills in just a few months.

The EFL program is a one-year course which aims to provide a thorough grounding in the English language and excellent preparation for transferring to mainstream classes.

There are three levels of EFL at BCIS:

* EFL 1 (for students in grades 1-3)

* EFL 2 (for students in grades 4-6)

* EFL3 (for students in grades 7 and above)
