Graduation Requirements
For a student of the Graduating Classes of 2010-2011 to be eligible for graduation, he/she must be enrolled for one full academic year and have earned a minimum of 48 academic credits. Standard diploma is awarded to students completing 52 academic credits in good standing at the end of the school year

Credit:   1.0  =  5 days/wk/semester or  2-3 x/wk/ 2 semesters
0.5 =  2-3x/week/semester or once/week/2 semesters
0.25 =  once/wk/semester

1.  One credit is granted for the successful completion of a course meeting 5 periods
a week in a semester.



2.  One half credit is granted for the successful completion of a course meeting 2-3
period a week in a semester.


3. One fourth credit is granted for the successful completion of a course meeting
one period a week in a semester.


4.  "Successful Completion" is defined by receiving a grade of D- through A+ or
Satisfactory (S).



5. AP Courses are awarded 1.5 credit per semester

6.  1 Community Service Certificate is awarded for a 20 hours work each year
7. For honors diploma, GPA of 3.4 or better will be awarded Cum Laude, 3.6 or better
will be Magna Cum Laude and 3.8 or better will be Summa Cum Laude.





Honor  Courses



If a student is interested in doing honors level work in a course, he or she may discuss
the possibility with the teacher and counselor. An honors contract will be drafted,
outlining the work that is expected above and beyond the regular coursework. If a
student does not fulfill the requirements of the honors contract, he/she wil receive
no credit for the honors work completed.
